Colour is light, broken down into wave lengths, each having a different vibratory rate.

An object that absorbs all the light waves with none reflected back , is perceived as black . One that reflects all the light is seen as being white . We see an object as blue when the sunlight hits it and it absorbs all the colours of the spectrum except blue , which is reflected back.

Every colour vibrates at a either a higher or lower rate which creates an experience of warmth or coolness. Violet (with the shortest wave- length and highest vibrational rate) creates a cool experience, whilst Red (the colour with the longest wave-length and slowest vibrational rate) creates a warm experience.

A rainbow consists of seven basic colours which, when seen together, are perceived as white. Many people associate these colours with the seven main chakras of the body.

Red is associated with the Spirit of life, physical energy and the life force.

Orange is associated with action, our personal feelings and desires.

Yellow is related to our intellect, our thoughts, our mind.

Green is linked to our heart centre. It brings peace.

Blue is the colour which symbolizes inspiration, devotion peace and tranquillity. It is associated with the throat chakra, communication and clairaudience.

Indigo is the colour of the sixth chakra ( the third eye). It represents Spiritual knowledge and the search for inner and outer awareness. Being linked with the third eye, indigo is the colour associated with clairvoyance (clear-seeing). In the harmony bottles, indigo is represented by
