We keep a light shining for

Jason

Jason Cole Goodman, also known as Jazz, left this world for another one on July 22, 1996.


His leaving was devastating to us, and the scars of our grief will never disappear completely. However, it is clear to us that Jason has not ceased to exist, and our need for certainty that life goes on beyond the physical has been satisfied. Jason continues to love and laugh.

Please join us in celebrating his first Spiritual birthday by doing something kind for a stranger. Pay the tab for the car behind you at the drive-thru, send a pizza to the police station, leave a note in the mailbox of someone whose yard looks especially nice. Leave flowers on a new neighbors doorstep, visit a senior citizen, take ice cream to the park and hand it out.

All of us here on this wonderful planet are connected. When we give, we receive. We can think of nothing else that would honor Jason more than this.

You came into our lives,
grabbed pieces of our hearts,
and then left with them still clutched in your fist.

No time for goodbyes,
No knowledge of your destination

I think that is the way you wanted it ...
Just "Bye, see ya later, I love you."
Instead of racking, screaming sorrow...that would have been.
(Your tolerance for tears was never great...)

I wonder if maybe WE planned it this way...before...
To have this life
......this loss
......at this time
so that we would have this stabbing pain-
to know the joy of love....
to have this gut wrenching jolt of death-
to know the wonder of life.

Perhaps you only came to us, with us
so that we would see what we have
instead of thinking that all we have is what we see.

Perhaps your purpose was only to lift the veil
and force us to look at the light.
