What is this life of ours all about
Why the pain? Why the sorrow? Why this Life?
I guess we are here to learn the lessons taught
From the Holy Father up above

As children we have the love and caring of the people we know
Who were sent to us from the father above
To hold us as we cry, and to laugh with us in our joyful times
These people are our parents, aunts and uncles too,
grandparents who love you

When the hard adolescent years come to fold
We are told that these emotional years will end
And we will wonder how we ever survived this time
When only enjoyment was on our minds
We were careless and carefree, nothing can happen to me

We meet that special person early in life
To help us as partners in life and in strife
For the hurdles that face us ahead
With worry running through our head

Our main concern at this time
How will I feed and clothe this family of mine
The children come one by one
With each their own personality and special love

These years seem to fly by
For we are so busy trying to surivive in this crazy world
The children seem to grow so fast
And before we know it they fly the nest
To their own place, to learn the lessons we have learned

Some of us, but a few
Fly too fast and leave this earth
And also leave a family who are suddenly lost to this life on earth
No more do they feel the joy, happiness, and excitement
They had intended on feeling when their children have grown
And have those special children of their own

So as one of those people who have lost
I tell all of you people on this earth
That life is not meant to be all peaches and cream
There are ups and downs
And be thankful to the Almighty Above
If you still have all the people you love

Material things come and go
But people and love should always remain
If you are to learn the lesson of up above
For the lesson is a hard one, but one you can get through
If you learn that love is the only thing that will do
You can get through this life on earth I guarantee
If the word "ME" is not in your vocabulary
